tmanbt
How do I flag partition as bootable ? PC currently has windows XP on drive C nothing on the second physical drive (D). If I let it boot it will load windows. Booting from CD loads Darwin then just reboots and starts Darwin again... I'm lost. Hardware is listed as compatible

SticMAC™
I'm a bit concerned, you said "Boot to dvd and hit spacebar", surely you meant F8? SticMAN I am trying to install Leopard 10.5.1 from Kalyway dvd. Boot to dvd and hit spacebar, Darwin starts loading and then suddenly reboots. Machine is a stock GX270 2gb ram 2 80gb ide drives and ge5200 video. Any ideas ???
tmanbt
the gx250 is on the HCL for 10.5.1., that's what I don't get. It does NOT work with 10.5.1 Kaly or Iatkos...Sorry, typo I meant GX270
dastrom
I had better luck with iAtkos 10.5.1 r2 - did get it installed on a gx270 with sse2. I also had the problem of the dvd rebooting with Kalyways dvd and iAtkos r1 but not iAtkos r2. No efi though. dastrom
kicka911
powl68. The GX270 is a stock motherboard with a 2.93 ghz Celeron D processor. Video is GeForce FX 5200. I installed with GUID partition, GUID EFI and NVInject desktop drivers. Only problem was the dreaded b0 error but i finally managed to get that taked care of. I'm running Leopard 10.5.1 on a GX280 at the moment with a 3 ghz P4 socket 775 with a Nvidia 7300GT card. I just popped the drive from the GX270 in the GX280 and it booted right up. Hardware Overview: Model Name: Mac Model Identifier: Mac Pro Processor Speed: 3 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 1 L2 Cache: 1 MB Memory: 1 GB Bus Speed: 3.2 GHz Boot ROM Version: Hack.int.0sh Serial Number: YM8659M6W0A GeForce 7300 GT: Chipset Model: GeForce 7300 GT Type: Display Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 256 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0393 Revision ID: 0x00a1 ROM Revision: NVinject 0.1.5 Displays: Acer AL1912: Resolution: 1280 x 1024 @ 75 Hz Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Hardware Accelerated Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Supported Rotation: Supported Display Connector: Status: No display connected I'm guessing as long as your processor supports SSE3 you should have a decent chance to get it installed. I've had no luck installing Kalyway Leo 10.5.1 on a SSE2 processor just does the endless reboot thing.

TheShaner
I am trying to get 10.5 running on a gx270. I have been able to get iAtkos r2 installed, but when I reboot, I get the standard b0 error. Several people here have said they have gotten past that error, but I cannot seem to find anyone saying how they did it. Can anyone who has actually got leopard installed on a gx270 or comparable dell share the wealth and give me some info on what install options you chose, and how the heck you got past the b0 error? --Thanks! Lactobacillus P
Sudden reboot on Kaliway 10.5.1 on GX270 2.2SSE2 CPU, 1.6Gb, FX5200 Nvidia AGP Running excellent with 10.4.10 XxX or JaS 10.4.8/9, also 10.4.11 XxX runs but without the new kernels. I had to use the 10.4.9 kernel and system.kext to avoid kernel stack dumps. The HCL lists the optiplex as compatible, but it is not with Leopard as it would seem.
