Maxintosh
They showed a LOT of iPhone clones at CES '08. None however are as responsive as the iPhone, but some have fold down keypads which make texting easier. I'll try to post some pics later. Some of these phones were actually very nice like the Nokia N95. The new Lenovo 'Idea' pad has VeriFace face recognition. When you sit in front of the laptop it scans your face. If someone steals your laptop there is no way that they can use it. Incredible technology, especially since laptops are one of the highest items stolen according to the latest FBI reports (1 every 53 seconds). You can read more about it here. Now the big question is will Apple use similar technology on their new laptops... Also, it's all but official now - Blu-Ray wins the Hi-Def format war! Almost every manufacture here at CES is supporting Blu-Ray in one manner or another. Looks like people have decided that higher specs are more important than lower pricing. Today Warner Bros. also signed on board and now that leaves only 3 other studios (Dreamworks, Paramount, and Universal) that are using HD-DVD. To bad for HD-DVD - it seems to have the 'Blu's'. Word is that by this time next year HD-DVD will go the way of the betamax :censored2:
apowerr
I always had a feeling blu-ray would win. It's a shame companies are so money hungry, all this format war has done is hurt consumers =(.
Maxintosh
Wait till you guys see the new Asus 100% solid state laptops. They are extremely light and will cost only $300.00. They will sell these like popcorn, especially to women who will be able to carry them in their purses. It's a pretty safe bet that Apple will be coming out with a similar item this month, what many are calling the Mac mini laptop. Texas Instruments has a new technology where you can project a 8x10 color display from a cell phone. If they use that technology on these smaller laptops then this will be the next big thing in portable computing. Can't wait for the Apple show this month
