My Mac on AMD Experience.

First I would like to thank everyone who contributes to this forum, great wealth of knowlege here. I managed to get everything working just by using the forum search function. "Hint to other noobs like me"

 

My system: Amd X2 5600, Nforce4 Ultra Mb, X800gto bios flashed to open all pipelines, 4 gig ram, 1 250gig sata with vista 64bit, 2 160gig sata in raid 0 with XP Pro, 1 160gig ide with 4 partitions, 2 are extended. 1st partition has Jas 10.4.8, 2nd has Toh RC2 Leopard, 3rd has Suse 10.3, 4th has Gentoo. X-FI sound "no Linux or Mac support, creative sucks"

 

I installed Jas 10.4.8 first, and i must say, this went off with out a hitch, Great release. I then proceeded to try a Brazilmac install of Leopard. For some reason i could not patch my Leopard correctly. I decided to download the Toh RC2 after that. I booted the disk, unchecked everything under the optional kexts and it installed fine. Upon reboot i would get a kernel panic if i tried to boot anyother way than safe mode. Once it loaded, leopard did not recognize my PS2 mouse and keyboard. So after some reading on the forums, i booted back into 10.4.8 and added the PS2 kext from Jas 10.4.8 to my leopard install, changed permissions on the kext and rebooted. Still only boot in safe mode, but now it did load all the way:) Rebooted again in normal boot mode to see what the kernel panic was all about. Ended up complaining about Gforce kext, so i booted back in safe mode, deleted Gforce kext. Rebooted in normal mode, and all is well:)

 

I was able to get QE/CI working on the 10.4.8, and am in the process of trying to get it working in Leopard.
