Currently, with the trial version of Crossover Mac 6.2.1, Counter-Strike: Source randomly crashes. While the crashing is random, it WILL crash every time you try and play the game. Has anyone else ran into this problem and if so, do you have a fix or know of a way to make the crashing more infrequent? Please see my system specs in my signature below.

The Crossover Mac bottle I am using for Steam and CS:S is a WindowsXP bottle. I am launching CS:S with the following flags: "-novid -windowed -dxlevel 95 -width 1680 -height 1050". It plays and looks beautifully when it is actually running.

This and TF2 are the only reasons why I would buy Crossover Mac; but if they continually crash, there is just no reason for me to spend the money on it.

If you have suggestions or similar experiences, please post up!

Thanks.

i've tried running it in -gl mode, in dxlevel 70 and dxlevel 80 and dxlevel 90/95 and have had no luck. -gl mode just locks up osx, not just steam/crossover/cs:s. all of the dxlevels just completely crash cs:s with no warning. crossover is still running and steam is still running. i've tried dropping all of my advanced video settings all the way down, but no luck with doing htat either.

what are the bottle settings you guys run, for those of you don't that don't have a problem.

sg, that's exactly what i've done. i've tried doing this on a win98, win2k, and winxp bottle. i chose "steam" from the supported software list, and then installed cs:s from within steam (downloaded from steam and installed from steam).

like i say, i've tried several different launch option settings, with no definitive luck. for the record, it works 100% perfect from within windows xp x64 (my dual boot standby for gaming).

you know cyclone, you could be completely right. i see you have one of the new 8800gt's, have you not had any problems in cs:s with yours? that definitely seems to be the common factor here is that no one else that has posted has a similar video card to mine. i wonder if it could also be that i'm on pc efi v8 instead of v6?
