scannerfm77
Hi, I read in netkas.org that Core Duo able to use Vanilla kernel. I tried using it but mine (Intel D820, my sig) keep reboot if using Vanilla kernel. Could anyone confirm whether it WORKS or NOT WORKS? I try to search but no one seem to use it w/ Vanilla kernel. Thank you.
ToGr82B4Gotn
It works great for me. However, I had to use the cd to make the disk bootable, then did an install with NO options selected. The only thing I have had to do manually is 1. Use tarugas HDA patcher for the audio STAC9200 2. Modify kext to get the broadcom 57xx (1600) to work. This thing SMOKES. Battery lasts 45 minutes longer in XP, but who cares. I am looking into te battery management to tweak soem more out of it.
the v0id
Doesn't work for me, same reboot problem, however if you disable dual core in bios it will work.
roboguy
booting with cpus=1 makes it work for me although performance is less
adamsweeting
you need to have specific motherboard chipsets to run the vanilla kernel right? I tried and got kernel panic, but then I don't have an Intel chipset!
