gonzo.damn
I just can't stop being amazed with Mac OS X on my system....cause it is an 3-4 years old system, and i can run almost every application very fast and stable (DVD Player doesn't work, because of my Graphic card)....I'm saying this, because i've installed Microsoft Office 2004 today (Teacher and Student version), and it opens REALLY fast (faster than Office XP on Windows XP on my same machine), and it runs that fast without opening it with Rosetta ....i guess that my 2 years waiting to have a fully functional Mac on my PC (I've downloaded every single application to emulate OS X on windows) has made your god to help me out with it....so...another fast running application on my "ayMac" : MICROSOFT OFFICE 2004 Ps: the only problem is oppening some powerpoints slideshows, but i figured it out....i can make them work opening the file from PowerPoint, and not double clicking it....it doesn't show me the slides, but i can open them at least....hehehe Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7928-m-office-2004/ Share on other sites
Technobob
and it runs that fast without opening it with Rosetta All PPC apps run under Rosetta it's the only way they work on Intel OS X X86 So Office 2004 is using Rosetta still Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7928-m-office-2004/#findComment-49606 Share on other sites
39thRonin
Exactly my point in another thread. I've been running MacOS X since the first Marklar bit and the 6gb partition. Over time I found that so many apps worked - and worked well - that I added more and more disk to the MacOS side. Today, I have a minor 50Gb partition for some XP apps I've not found really good replacements for, and I have nearly 1Tb of MacOS Disk (2x300Gb less 50Gb for XP, and 2x200Gb). I've built great presentations for my wife's Masters class work, designed business forms, done really great web work - all with an unreleased, not-even-Beta OS! ozzie123
The app worked well indeed. It's just that every new PPC program that I installed, the computer crash when I run it the first time. For the second time and beyond, it runs smoothly (okay... a little slow for some programs...)
