ozzie123
Hello, I've been searching around this forum and I can't seem to find it. How can we run certain application under Rosetta? I've tried installing macromedia 8 and somehow the system crash and I have to reinstall the whole OS. Is there anyway to make applications run on rosetta? I've been reading somewhere in the forum that you can easily right click and set-run as Rosetta but I can't find it on my MacOS. I'm using intel915 with GMA 900. QE and CI runs smoothly with SSE3->SSE2 patch. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7851-how-to-run-under-rosetta/ Share on other sites
alicheusz
just right click on app file in your applications folder and take get info, then check open using rosetta. This should be named slowrosetta. Every PPC program that have something on preferences panel don't work Edited January 27, 2006 by alicheusz Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7851-how-to-run-under-rosetta/#findComment-49329 Share on other sites
ozzie123
That's what I meant, there's no "Open using Rosetta" option. I'm trying this on Microsoft Office 2004. Application with system preference doesn't work with Rosetta? Is this why Adobe Creative Suite CS2 doesn't run on x86? Application with system preference doesn't work with Rosetta? Is this why Adobe Creative Suite CS2 doesn't run on x86? I would suspect that it may be due to the SSE2, not Rosetta. Both applications you cite run fine on my box - to such an extent that I don't even use them on XP any longer... Technobob
The option to Open Using Rosetta is only for universal binary apps (PPC/Intel) PPC apps are always run in Rosetta Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7851-how-to-run-under-rosetta/#findComment-49601 Share on other sites
ozzie123
who said CS2 doesn't run on x86? I did, didn't I? Well anyway, everytime I wanted to install CS2 suite, the system crash. Everytime. At first I guess it's because of the SSE2 thing, but hey, isn't maxxuss patch already solved that? RipJaw
who said CS2 doesn't run on x86? Ya I was wondering the same thing. CS2 runs fine on my laptop ... its about a minute slower than my Windows work station (using that photoshop performance test in the forum). My comp came in at 190 seconds, my OSX dell came in at 250 seconds.
