Metrogirl
My suggestion (take it or leave it!) is to leave well alone if you have a working 8F1099 and it is doing everything you want. Although 8F1111 is no problem for most people, there have been enough install issues to fill two pages of this forum so you might be one of the unlucky ones. As the saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!". If you do decide to go ahead and reinstall, back up and document any customisations you've made so you can put them back should you need to revert to 1099. thrunner
Is good idea install version 8F1111 instead 8F1099 ? Can i have with this release better performance ?No, you won't get any better performance, but newer applications will run better and if you got QE and CI (compatible video), you will be able to run DVD player properly without the garish green hue. You will get better Rosetta support (Altivec emulation) as well. sundayman x
What is most interesting for me is PPC applications performance... So, if upgrade can give better work, i will try ... Of course, i will backup all data, so i think, risk is not too much. I have OSX and XP on separate disks, so it is not big problem. DVD player in my actual system work also ok (no green screen), of course i have Quartz and Core Graphics (on D915GEVL built video). Well, i will see... Thanks for replies.
