retroz
I know this is going to sound, err, basic noob, but haven't been around in a while - also bought a Macbook Pro. Anyway, was wondering, what, if any, the closest build to a Mac Pro someone on here has built - if so, what parts, CPU, Motherboard, did you use? Would really like to try to build a decent, FAST TIGER system and would like to follow someone else's specs, if possible. Please post the info if you have some. Much appreciated and have a VERY MERRY Christmas all. nagal
This is probably the closest anyone here has gotten to building a MacPro http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=77290 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/77859-merry-christmas-all-anyone-build-a-hack-close-to-mac-pro/#findComment-551418 Share on other sites
weaksauce12
I used Leopard and built a Quad-Core Mac Pro clone. Detailed instructions here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=76014 This guy did a pretty awesome job, complete with a Mac Pro case: http://www.s155158671.websitehome.co.uk/ma...hackintosh.html SuperMicro boards support both dual-processor and quad-processor configurations, so if money is no object you can get really crazy. Intel's new Skulltrail motherboard is looking like the way to go for dual-processor Penryn systems: http://www.engadget.com/2007/12/28/intels-...orm-skulltrail/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/77859-merry-christmas-all-anyone-build-a-hack-close-to-mac-pro/#findComment-559812 Share on other sites
