raggedjagged
Hi guys, I want to know for those with the GA-P35-DS3R Motherboard, which release has worked better? And is GUID Recommended? I also need some advice: I have 2 Hard drives: 1) 500GB with Vista on it. and 2) 320GB With my DATA on it. Now which drive do you recommend me installing Leopard onto? On one had if I install it on the Vista drive, my DATA remains untouched and is central to both systems; however on the other hand, if I install on a partition on DATA drive, my Vista drive won't face any sort of OS problems that you could with OS X. Please help! Appreciate all your help.

Please help! Appreciate all your help. I have this board (version 1.0). I installed both on the 2nd partition of my primary SATA drive as EFI - MBR (at different times, obviously). Both installed pretty easily - here are my experiences so far: iATKOS. I installed this first and used it for about 2 hours total: Needed to install kext for the sound card Network worked out-of-the-box If I click on Restart, the PC starts to reboot but gets hung. I need to use the reset button to restart KALYWAY. I just installed lastnight and only have about 30 minutes in it: Needed to install kext for the sound card Trying to find kext for network (still having trouble here) Restart working fine. I have not tried many other options or apps, as of yet.
raggedjagged
Damn! Then why is my installation of Kalyway not working? After the installation completes, the machine reboots and simply shows a blinking cursor with nothing happening (but the hard disk light is constantly on), can someone please help me with that? Thanks.

raggedjagged
I tried that, only the DVD itself loads everytime i try that.
KroeT
I can't help you with your problem, but I can give you some input on your primary question. I have the same motherboard, and I've installed Kalyway. Works like a charm, Vanilla kernel and all, but VMWare crashes when the virtual machine reboots or switches itself off. That's the only problem I've found so far. Not going to try iATKOS unless my Kaly install fails me. Kaly installed from my IDE DVD drive though, and that's a first. I like it
liebowa
I've had iATKOS up and running from day one and am very satisfied; but I thought I'd try Kalyway once more for comparison purposes. I still can NOT get my onboard network card to be recognized. Anyone have any ideas? I have the version 1.0 of this motherboard.
osv
i believe that the onboard lan port on the ds3r works out of the box with kalyway, no additional kext needed... did you check to see if you have activity lights on the port?

Thanks. Try to Use Gparted Live CD (download image, burn into CD and boot with that) and use it to add a boot flag to your installation's partition. best regards
