~anima
I was able to put my hands on the new Beta update 10.5.2 and it seems like there will be support for the HD38XX series of ATi, too. 0x95001002 0x95011002 0x95051002 0x95071002 0x95041002 0x95061002 Also there are Dev Ids of cards that are nowhere listed. If someone posted this before, I'm sorry.
~anima
*bump* ... folks? Isnt that the same like when the found that 8800gt and the whole g92 is supportet? Why is no one interested in ATi/AMD ?!
cyclonefr
Old news. This won't work since framebuffer requires some patches we don't know. The same goes for HD2600 users, they need to use Hypopryon from 10.5 9A527 (beta) and they can't use any new framebuffer. So for now, Triakis (new HD38XX framebuffer) will display a blue screen, until we manage to know what's HD series problem.
~anima
Well, the new framebuffer in that update doesnt say Triakis, it says "Prionace" and "PrionaceB". Are they the same? I dont think so.
vlad1966
Generally I like ATI vid cards, however, the 8800GT is faster than anything ATI has right now.
~anima
Yeah youre right. But we cant let Nvidia get a monopole! So buy ATi, buy ATi, buy ATI... I just found it interesting that you can find such a lot device ids, even for cards that are nowhere listed like the lowend hd36XX and so on. Anyway I will get a GF 8800GT(s)
