Northern Paladin
Hey folks, my sound is also not working I did not select anything sound during install. I tried using the AppleHDAPatcher_v1.16 with STAC9274D_83847621.txt file and still not working. Any suggestions? Everything else seems to be working fine so far. EDIT: {censored}, I was intending to post a reply to BJMoose thread on First impressions of Kalway on a BadAxe2 (and did not want to start a new thread).... weaksauce12
Just for funsies, give my Bad Axe 2 installation pack a shot: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=76014&st=0 It has the audio patch inside (1.16 + text). I don't remember if it's the same version as yours, but give it a try and let me know what happens. Also if this doesn't work but you find a fix for it under Kalyway, please post back here. I'm sure plenty of people would like to know it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/77367-how-did-folks-get-sound-working-on-the-badaxe2-with-kalway-install/#findComment-547218 Share on other sites
Northern Paladin
Thanks weaksauce12, I actually tried two .txt files and one was from your pack! I have never used the HDAPatcher before so I wondering if I am using it properly (and if it is actually doing anything) I just dropped the .txt file on the patcher icon, it flashes quickly but there are not messages or anything. I reboot and look in system profiler and there is no audio. Is there some place I can look to see if the patcher actually did something? chuckles
Paladin, that is the correct install technique, how ever I too am unable to get sound working on my badaxe2 with kalyway's 10.5.1. It had it working fine with the 10.5 flat install image with the 1.16 patcher. I have tried the same .txt file that work under 10.5 with Applehda Patcher 1.16, 1.17, 1.18, 1.19, and 1.20. Still no audio device. 3vilution
Did you repair permissions? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/77367-how-did-folks-get-sound-working-on-the-badaxe2-with-kalway-install/#findComment-547439 Share on other sites
chuckles
Did you repair permissions?Just repaired permissions via disk utlity, rebooted, no device. Ran 1.20 with the STAC9274D_83847621.txt again, repaired permissions via disk utility, rebooted again. still no device. A note, on 10.5 as soon as I would run the script a bubble from HDAPatcher would appear in the top right hand corner with the correct sound device listed. It now now has no device name, and just goes through the motions.* Patching AppleHDA.kext to 0x83847621 Done* Checking AppleHDA for patch Done0001f4a7 cmpl $0x83847621,%eax0002058b cmpl $0x83847621,%eax* Checking for SPDIF Out Detected* Checking for SPDIF In Not Detected* Using the following nodes in pathmap Back Mic: 7 27 24 21 12 Line In : 28 25 22 16 Speaker : 13 2 Spdif Out: 33 30* Copying new config to destination Done* Repairing Permissions Done* Deleting Extensions Cache Done** Done patching - You can reboot now **Just for funsies, give my Bad Axe 2 installation pack a shot:http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=76014&st=0It has the audio patch inside (1.16 + text). I'm sure plenty of people would like to know it weaksauce12 Thanks a ton! I'm not sure what the differences are from your text to mine, but your patch worked perfectly with your included HDAPatcher.! Now Running Kalyway 100% (less the mic input which I don't need) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/77367-how-did-folks-get-sound-working-on-the-badaxe2-with-kalway-install/#findComment-547540 Share on other sites
Northern Paladin
Hey chuckles, glad to here you got it working. I tried again with weaksauce12's patcher and file but still no love. I have sinking feeling that some cryptic combination of patch attempts (which you have hit on) are needed to get this working. If by any chance you do another "clean install" of Kalway 10.5.1 let me know if just running weaksauce12's patcher first works. Thanks for sharing, but the search continues for me. I don't believe it was any combination of patches, rather the right patch with repaired permissions... the last thing I did was to repair permissions of my OSX Volume, reboot, apply weaksauce12's patch included in his pack. It successfully repaired permissions on it's own (which had not happened before) the patch should take about 1.5-2 minutes for the permission to be repaired. Rebooted, and I had sound!
