jsz0
Your disk controller is not being detected. Check your BIOS to see if you can enable AHCI mode on the disk controller. If not you could try to find out which chipset the laptop uses and see if any KEXT supports it.
Selayan
Same problem on my laptop. I have IDE hard drive and it supports ACHI but when I go to bios I can only change recognition from DOS to Other. No other options for the drive are available. I guess there is not a way for it to work then.
JSn1™
The installation works with Tiger, but not with Leopard, if that helps...
Jadedknight
I am having this exact same problem on my desktop, but I do not have any of those advanced BIOS options! Any help?
JSn1™
I am having this exact same problem on my desktop, but I do not have any of those advanced BIOS options! Any help? I got no Advanced options in my bios since it is branded. Yesterday I got to have my drive listed by going into system profiler and browsing the SATA tree. I got back to disk utility and got my drive listed, but when I wanted to erase it, I got a resource busy error. Please help.
Selayan
My hard drive is IDE and it is ACHI and the dvd boots and I can see under system profiler that it shows my hard drive. But in diskutility my hard drive is not detected at all?
