volition1
Alright so here it is how come nobody has made a 100% dummy proof guide? I will be the very first to admitt I know absolutely nothing about half the stuff you guys are talking about. But would love to learn. What i would like if some one could do it someday 1. a list of components comparible to the MAC PRO TOWER two 3.0ghz quad core Intel Xeon with 2gb of ram optical drive with blue tooth and wifi 2. What pc components to buy to get as close to or better than that mac 3. Most likely installation of these parts for the people that have never put together a computer. with photos and step by step instructions 4. Last but not least a very easy step by step instructions on loading the OSX 86 software and patches with screen shots or photos which ever works and having everything on the Mother board working properly. 5. And a small part of this guide telling people about how to do updates and what not so they can maintain there brand new HACKINTOSH. I realize this is alot of work just to get newbies and people like me with a great product for half the price of what apple is charging But something like this could really get alot of beginers like my self into this alot easier. Thank you for reading. And if anyone does deside to take on this task i thank you as im sure everyone else would too. socal swimmer
I wrote a full install guide for teh GA P35-DS3P. It is noob-proof. Building a dual-CPU computer is super expensive. Most who want a fast computer just get a good Core 2 Duo, Quad, or even Extreme CPU. I payed 650 for mine (after tax, shipping, rebates). It compares with a mac pro. See my sig for details. Their are many steps, and writing one guide to cover all just isn't efficient. It is better to have options (plus you learn something). So, use the search engine in my sig to search for compatibility info on different parts. The GA P35-DS3x mobos are good, fast, cheap, and overclockable, and compatible. The Bad Axe 2 (D975XBX2) is more expensive, bad at overclocking, but compatible and has lots of ports. Look at ppl's sigs (signatures) for info on their builds. There are many installation guides. I have a full one in my sig that should work for nearly all newer compatible mobos (motherboards). physical assembly has many guides on the internet. no need to repeat that. google -> "build computer". If you install efi, you can do system updates just fine. see my guide for info basically, each step has been documented, just not in one guide. SticMAC™
Alright so here it is how come nobody has made a 100% dummy proof guide?(the 100% dummy proof guide WILL be to difficult for dummies to understand) I will be the very first to admitt I know absolutely nothing about half the stuff you guys are talking about. But would love to learn.(see answer above) What i would like if some one could do it someday 1. a list of components comparible to the MAC PRO TOWER two 3.0ghz quad core Intel Xeon with 2gb of ram optical drive with blue tooth and wifi (there is such a list, it is called an OS compatibility list) 2. What pc components to buy to get as close to or better than that mac (see answer above + list of best hardware to buy) 3. Most likely installation of these parts for the people that have never put together a computer. with photos and step by step instructions (if you cant build it, have it done! the loading of the OS has nothing to do with a PC build! just the Os will influence the choice!) 4. Last but not least a very easy step by step instructions on loading the OSX 86 software and patches with screen shots or photos which ever works and having everything on the Mother board working properly. (There are step by step instructions to install ALL the versions of MacOS on both Intel, AMD and even original PPC equipment) ps:(you are running some of the world's most advance software, designed to run on specific hardware, with the original intent NOT no run on PC based equipment! Then included you throw equipement manufactured by LOTs and LOTS and LOTS of manufacturers, in the equation, cobined with people that create an compile drivers in the "sparetime" for the love of it!) 5. And a small part of this guide telling people about how to do updates and what not so they can maintain there brand new HACKINTOSH. (if you did the origanal installation right the updates WILL be a mere formality ie, click on software updates!) I would like to add RTFM(Read The Forum Manuals ) or GOOGLE-IT! sometimes people think all this came about in a flash BUT this is not true, there a guys that have spent THOUSANDS of hours to get systems working the way they do and have done HUNDREDS(myself 68) of installations just to test something new and that dont have the luxury to do this on a seperate HDD so if they screw up the have to start over, including meAND ALL FOR FREE!!! SticMAN To all the Unsung HEROES! Thank you!! Megamixman
How come you noobs never learn to search and read? What about posting in that right place? If noobs don't want to follow the rules, theres no reason we should make a noob-friendly guide, since apparently they have no respect for the people that do all the hard work and figure this stuff out. Get over yourselves, you're not the center of the world. No one owes you anything. Answer my question and then I will answer yours. volition1
Ive actually been looking into doing this for about a year now. but what i have noticed like i stated, there really isn't a comprehensive manual on this for the beginner. sure I understand all of you guys have put in hours into this but for most people that have just stumbled onto this its a little over whelming. jeez most people who would love to build a mac most of the time don't even know where terminal is. Thats why im talking about a really really basic step by step guide. even a you tube video. sure it would be long but at least people would have an idea of what there looking at from start to finish. elmetal
seems like you want it handed to you. if you want it handed to you, go get a mac, it works right out of the box.
