Be aware after updating to 8.0.1 you will asked to provide your name and serial again. So how about before you run the update, Right click (Ctrl+Click) on the application, go to "Show Package Contents" then "Contents" then "MacOS" copy the file named "Logic Pro" and paste it on the desktop, then run the update. After the update is completed drag that file back into it's original folder, and Replace the file when it give you that prompt? Just saying...
