I got all the files for osx and i started to install it. with that, i gets pretty far, but it cant get past the first apple logo. All i see is the little thing spinning and then a little (/) (no) sign appears. I tried it again and i got it to boot in diagnostics mode. It got far, but for some reason right after it detects my firewire port it stops. After waiting a while it says "still waiting for root service."

Got any ideas?

Anyone have a similar problem??

use:

rd=disk1s1 (the cd-rom is the second device, right?)

rd=.... -v (use -v to see what's going on every time)

use platform=X86PC w/ and w/out rd

remember, ALWAYS use -v for verbosity. actually, I have -v in my Boot.plist file even if my laptop boots perfectly since one month back

I'm not an expert in this area, but I have heard people talk about real problems trying to get anywhere with the X200 chipset, which is what you've got. Unless someone knows better, I'd say you might not have a lot of luck with this one. Great laptop, though.

in the basement, i have a crappy computer with these specs:

-Intel Celeron 1.0gHz

-256mb Ram

-20gb HDD

-DVD\CD-RW Drive

-Integrated graphics and sound

Would that be any better??

UPDATE: This time i got to this line when it stopped:

kdp_poll: no debugger device

Please do some more reading. The minimum requirement is SSE2 (run a Windows program call CPUZ to find out) which the Celeron 1.0GHz never had. Your best bet is to spend about $200 (see signature below for the thread) with the latest patched OSX 10.4.3 install.
