me_ankit
Hi 1) Is it possible for EFI to work on AMD.. In this post 10.5.0 HCL Rakko claims that the he has got Using Leopard Flat Image (updated to 10.5.1) EFI working with ToH kernel on ASUS a8n32-sli deluxe. 2) I am also looking to buy a new AMD motherboard for my 4400+ X2. Can any please tell me which motherboard has the greatest compatibility with leopard. Preferably the newer chipset(AM2, 690v) & manufactured by ASUS or MSI. Hopefully both ATA, SATA, LAN(maybe), & AUDIO will work. macgirl
Yes is possible to use PC EFI on AMD, what is not possible is to use vanilla kernel even with EFI. Does it provide better support for GPU? Will it work only on Leopard? Guest Snowski
MacDaddy runs EFI. I'm not interested in this yet. I just run the OS with the latest built. Zephyroth's has the update already built in. I know it will be less easy (compared to those with EFI) to do future OS updates but I'm enjoying the OS for now. I might even not update for a long time if I don't come across any issues. For mobo spec just go through some AMD threads and check users spec in the sigs. I can already tell you that any NF4 is good to go bud. I see you don't have that 6600GT running properly yet, get on with it then, these cards are supported m8 Go through the New AMD release thread (Zephyroths) on page 12 there is a solution by just replacing the kexts and repairing permissions. The 6600GT is very easy to get working. Good luck! me_ankit
Thanks Snowski. The Zephyroth's release is about 90% Downloaded... Can't wait to try it out. 6600GT is working perfectly on TIGER, will try on Zephyroth's Leopard release. Couldn't get it working on the TOH (it was 1440*900 res native but no QE/CI). Guess i'll just keep using my old mobo for now.
