digilink
I just bought a new black Macbook, it's my first ever Mac. It came with 1 GIG of RAM, but I seriously doubt that will be enough. Looking at the specs, it looks like it will support standard 200 Pin DDR2 memory. I found the following on Newegg, and I can't really see the difference here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820233050 Corsair "Mac" branded memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820145157 More or less the same, without the "Mac" brand I've been around computers for a long time, long enough to know that it doesn't really matter who the vendor is of a particular card or memory in this case, as long as it's rated spec will work in your machine, it should work. Is that the case here? Is this pure marketing FUD on Corsair's account? There is a $25 difference between the 2. Anything special about "Mac" memory? sarahbau
The only thing special about the "Mac" memory is that is has "Mac" printed on it. They didn't even bother giving it a different model number. sarahbau
This is what I bought for my MacBook - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231116 . It's $1 less than the Corsair memory you linked ($6 off the normal $45 price right now). It's worked fine for 4 months so far, running at 100% CPU 24/7 pretty much since I got it. lol (Folding@Home). Very stable. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/75649-upgrading-ram-in-my-macbook/#findComment-534690 Share on other sites

Special-K
http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/MacBook/DDR2/ I was thinking of buying from there. Anyone try them out? I don't want to spend $160 for the Samsung memory, but I don't really trust the others. A Nonny Moose
Macsales.com will only give you RAM that will work in that model, or so it claims. So it's a relatively safe investment. digilink
I just bought this and dropped it into my Macbook: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16820145172 Works GREAT, I even used it with the existing 512 stick that was in there for a grand total of 2.5 gb. And it was cheap (about $35 after MIR) I'm new to Mac's and I had to laugh when I started seeing all this "Mac" branded memory, it's still a computer after all (A MUCH BETTER COMPUTER I MIGHT ADD!!!!)
