I thought it was the Toh DVD Install so I used it on my brothers PC to make sure it wasn't it goes past the Dec 9 10:48:16 localhost mDNSresponder[48] :mDNSynamicStoresetConfig:mach communication failed (iipc/send) Invalid destination port and went in to the welcome screen so it must be something wrong with my laptop.

I’ve tried booting using -v -x -f -s -legacy (-s puts me in terminal)

Try Waiting WAY longer. It takes almost half an hour to boot that disk on mine, and there are long periods where it seems hung, if it doesn't throw a kernel panic or the dreaded waiting for root just keep waiting.

I've booted it on my brother's pc and it took about 2mins to boot into the welcome screen from where it stops on mine. I just tried installing again with -legacy -f and waited about 12mins and my laptop seems to be doing nothing no DVD drive lights were on and seems everything just came to a stand still. I don't think waiting half an hour will fix the problem, my laptop is way faster than that but i'll give it a try tho.

Any other adivce thanks

thanks for the one's that were gave already
