inkoma
I know this is boring stuff for the experienced users. I'm with a almost perfect system. I just can't get my laptop keyboard to be used. I have a Asus A6JC. Everything is wonderfullm graphic and sound drivers... I tried to do several stuff. I opened ApplePS2Controller.kext, get info and changed permissions. "delete files .mkext .kextcache (2 files normally) in /System/Library/ copy the package .kext i attached into /System/Library/Extensions (you'll need to authenticate so don't forget to load the virtual keybord;)) load this command in terminal (copy it into a textfile and "copy&paste") YOU WILL NEED A ROOT ACCESS!!! sudo diskutil repairPermissions / sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext kextload /System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions/" Did this, but I think my main problem is that I do not know how to be in ROOT ACCESS. This is what happens: " kextload /System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext you must be running as root to load modules into the kernel" Please help. inkoma
Ok, I finally did it. I hope I can help those with same problem. I had to reboot with the installation dvd, go to utilities menu and change the root password. then i did all the commands i specified above. I think my all problem all the time was the root's password. Thanks eveyone. I have a nearly perfect leopard installation Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/75356-the-laptop-keyboard-problem/#findComment-533895 Share on other sites
InorganicMatter
You need to start out by typing 'sudo -s' and then your password. Then install the kext and build the cache.
