hi

boot: -legacy and press enter

now i think your leopard should boot

now go to Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

and click get info click the padlock button below and enter your root password when prompted then click the "+" icon and add your user account giving it read+write permission then click ok..

now open it and similarly change the permission of

com.apple.Boot.plist

and add -legacy to last line<string><string>

it should look like this

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

<plist version="1.0">

<dict>

<key>Kernel</key>

<string>mach_kernel</string>

<key>Kernel Flags</key>

<string>-legacy</string>

</dict>

</plist>

Why should we always boot into legacy mode?

Is this ok for the system in the long run I am a little noobish on this...

I have used legacy boot when I could'nt get the machine to boot normally

Just want to increase my know how. Can i not add the legacy flag and still have a stable system?

On a side note thanks for the guide it very concise and clear..

I got mine working and I don't even need to do any of those instruction guides. After installation, start up your pc, boot from DVD Drive with osx disc in it, and you will get prompted with "Do you want to install Mac OS X, or enter startup options press F8", Don't press anything, just let the timer on the right time out, and Leopard will load. :P Thank you for the Guide Instructions and your time, very well done.

Everything is good, Mac OS X installed... but after the welcome page..

it says it can't identified my keyboard, tell me to press key to the right of the left shift key .. etc etc. and my keyboard IS working.

Then finally at the end of it is the page of "Do you Already Own A Mac" and you can choose how to trasnfer your information ..

Of course I picked Do not trasnfer my information now.. and I am just in this forever loop of can't identified your keyboard, and after select not trasnfer information, it just loop back again..

I have a Dell Inspion 530. Thanks !

OK guys. First I want to thank you for your infos and your efforts. After 5 days, 3 different mobos, 5 different HDDs and much much much more I finnaly make it to work BUT I have issues on one of my PCs.

P5N32 SLI premium WiFi

INTEL Core 2 duo E4500 @2.20GHz

Nvidia 8800 GTS

Western Digital 160GB and 250GB

...and I cant install on it. It stuck every time on different position. Sometimes its while reading from disc, sometimes my mouse dont work wierd stuff anyway. So do you know what could be the issue? Is it motherboard, HD, graphic? Cause I realy want mac on that PC...

Thx in advance...

P.S. I read that post about my motherboard isseus with tiger and I will try some things from there.

Anyone know how to upgrade ToH 10.5.0 to 10.5.1 or 10.5.2?

Or use Toh 10.5.0 with EFI?

I can get 10.5.0 installed with this procedure, and with some tweaking get the video and sound going, but would like to run the latest and greatest OS X

did you try the realtek 1000 drivers that are circulating?

if not, tey the one im sending you... just open the installer and reboot-

(no warranties- i backup my disk before i install stufff so i have a restore point.)

they worked with my gigabit realtek card.

as for the sound, just buy an external sound box for $30- try m-audio.

good luck!
