karishbhr Posted December 6, 2007 Share Posted December 6, 2007 I just got a new HD, formatted it with FAT32 and booted into ToH leopard install disc. I goto Disc Utility to format the disc and its not there. I then booted into a live CD of ubuntu and it sees the FAT32 hd properly. Eventually I installed XP on the drive so I could actually use the computer. Any ideas why it wasn't showing up? smorf Posted December 6, 2007 Share Posted December 6, 2007 this could be a lot of things. tell us a little more on your hardwaresetup. what mainboard do you use, to which ide / sata port do you connect which kind of hdd do you use... my first idea is some missing driver for the controller... timeshifter Posted December 6, 2007 Share Posted December 6, 2007 Try going in to your BIOS and changing the settings for your SATA controller. You may need to turn off the RAID feature, or AHCI to off.
