mroarsome
Hey Guys, I have been looking into turning my old laptop into a hackintosh. Its a compaq presario v5000. I was just wondering if it were possible to use the leapord DVD that came with my shiney new iMac to patch? I live in NZ -a land of slow internet, and I don't want to wait 5-7 days for something to download and find it doesnt work as well as I had hoped. All I really want to know, is if I use this CD will it affect my iMac? Thanks in advance for any help. Cheers, Chris. OSXtotheZ
the short answer is no u can not use an original Leopard disk to install on a hackintosh. You must use a modified installer like ToH or Brazilmac. (unless you know how to do your own extraction and patching of an original install disk) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/74973-n00b-question-can-i-use-my-imac-dvd-to-install-on-a-hackintosh/#findComment-529736 Share on other sites
TonyKL
Download BrazilMac patch (~14MB) and apply it to the original Leopard DVD and then install from the patched image.
