Do ATi 4670 and 4650 cards work under OSX?

So do these cards now work in 10.6.2 ?
  2. I'm currently running with a 32bit kernel - I'll wait a little while before replacing my kexts.
  3. Another request for the kexts - i had to remove my efi string to get it to boot.

    EP35-DS3R Tips

Do you use anything like VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop for virtualisation? I have a very similar setup to yourself and it runs great except if I try virtualisation and then CPU maxes out - wondering if its slow disk io/access that is the issue?

    VMWare Fusion runs slow

Looking at the CPU usage when VMWare 2.0.5 runs a VM (Windows Server 2K3 in my case) one core runs at 100% - very odd :-(

    VMWare Fusion runs slow

VMWare 2.0.5 runs fine on my real SL installs, just the OSX86 version it doesnt :-(
  9. I've installed Snow Leopard on my Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P and all is working fine and happy except that when I run VMWare Fusion it runs really really slow and sometimes crashes out. I don't have problems on any of my real Macs just the PC. Any ideas/required kexts? Cheers!
  10. I guess the answer is a no :-(
  11. Just wondering as I have a Vanilla Intel Retail install of 10.5.6 Client and tried to install server which failed. is this something that is possible?

    Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P and Boot-132

I have a GA-P35-DSP too (might be an R - can't remember the diff) I've just been looking since 10.5.6 on a good way to do things (used retail and EFI before) I found this guide: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=115877 Which also points to this: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=114834 Maybe that's a good starting point?
  13. Just read that AppleSMBIOS is no longer solely responsible for setting the Model - have to use a modified kernel too !
  14. Any idea's how to fix this so Sys Profile reports as Mac Pro?
  15. When I installed before I had the model name as 'Mac Pro' which was great as the icon was correct. Now I've re-installed and updated to 10.5.3 my model name is 'Mac' Is there anyway I can change the model name to 'Mac Pro' so that the icon is correct. I know I could change the icon but this would mess up my other macs on my network.
