Hello,

I install Leopard on my laptop (compal el80) dual core 2 without any problems. I install the NVinjectGo patch and reboot without any problems. But when I upgrade to the 10.5.1 I see the logo and then it's restart.

Can you help me? How I can use the modified kernel?

Thank's in advance

I have exactly the same problem as you, but Im using Natit. I guess the only solution is to reinstall the ToH release and wait for a patched 10.5.1 or just wait for iATKOS which will be 10.5.1

you will probably need to re-install, if everything is work good I would sudgest holding off on the update until the dust settels a bit, Not sure what the update does to the Hackintosh machines anyway. I am running fine with out the update and will wait it out, if you search, others have been able to run the update but they use pre and post scripts to clean things up.

Good luck,

One possible reason the system is rebooting...

The OSx10.5.1 Update package contains a version of the 'mach_kernel' which is uncompatible (or corrupt at least for me)..

What you could try is replacing the mach_kernel with the one on the DVD or download the latest Toh version (I've used the latest)

I haven't tried this since I have 10.4.8 and 10.5.1 installed but if you don't...

1. Boot up the Toh 10.5 DVD.

2. Open Terminal.

3. Enter the following command to get to the root of the DVD:

cd /

4. Enter in the following list the contents of the directory:

ls -la

Check that you see 'Install MacOSx.app' (I think thats the actual name) to know that you are still looking at the DVD and not somewhere else.

5. If you are still looking at the DVD's root directory then enter the following (Make just to sub XXXXXXX with the name of you actual harddrive you are using):

cp -Rp mach_kernel /Volumes/XXXXXXX/mach_kernel.toreplace

in case you harddrive name has spaces use the '\' after each space

Example:

cp -Rp mach_kernel /Volumes/XX\ XXX\ XX/mach_kernel.toreplace

6. Change to the harddrive with you volume name

cd /Volumes/XXXXXXX

7. Check the directory for the 'mach_kernel.toreplace'

ls -la

8. Backup the current mach_kerenl just in case

mv mach_kernel mach_kernel.old

and

mv mach_kernel.cfsys mach_kernel.cfsys.old

9. Rename the 'mach_kernel.toreplace'

mv mach_kernel.toreplace mach_kernel

10. Repair permissions if needed

chown -R 0:0 mach_kernel

chmod -R 644 mach_kernel

11. Restart....

You could also install a fresh copy of 10.5 and create through Terminal a copy of the 'mach_kernel' calling 'mach_kernel.patch'

then once you've gone through the process of updating, boot into the harddrive pressing F8.

At the command prompt enter:

mach_kernel.patch -s

This will boot into the old kernel

Hope this helps alittle, good luck
