goodl
I got a 7900GT to replace my silent 7300GT in my hackintosh. My god this thing sounds like a vaccum cleaner its so loud. Im happy with the performance but not with the noise could someone recommend a good replacement cooler?

Synaesthesia
Buy a fan controller (knob connected to variable resistor) and possibly a zalman fan. You can throttle the speed down when you're just using your pc for light stuff and put it back up for graphics intensive times.
Jerrylander
Maybe Arctic Cooling has a solution: http://www.arctic-cooling.de/vga1.php Don't really know how they are doing these days, cooling wise, but I was quite satisfied with them back when the Radeon 9700 Pro was a top notch card... dang, do I feel old
consolation
The 7900GT has the nastiest, cheapest fan I had seen in a long while, and the heatsink is a bit of a joke as well. I stuck a water block on the GPU and video ram, quiet and they overclock like buggery if you can keep them cool enough.
Ezhoon
I heartily recommend Zalman VF-900; it is quiet and provides very nice cooling performance. I raised 7900GT volt to 1.4v and overclocked to 620Mhz core without any problem
