I have had no system freezes whatsoever (Athlon 64 X2 +3800:939)

but i have onboard LAN disabled and i use wifi, also it boots and runs fine without the "-legacy" string in the com.apple.boot.plist

Cant seem to get QI/CE working on my 7900GT/KO though (eVGA)

making cpus=1.. will it highly impact the performance of the system..

how to put it as kernel flag in the boot.plist.. sorry newby question..

regards..

Edit it like this:

DEFAULT:

<key>Kernel Flags</key>

<string>-v -legacy</string>

1 CORE:

<key>Kernel Flags</key>

<string>-v -legacy cpus=1</string>

Then save it and reboot!

Try the fixed Leo Vid Kexts that you find in this thread somewhere to fix QE/CI.

You say try the leo vid kexts found here but should i leave "Titan" in there, or does it include natit or Nvinject....

Im really not a complete noob, just having trouble- I have tried those kexts before with no luck

Delete all NV* GeForce* Titan and Natit and then install the leo vid kexts.

thanks mus

EDIT: Caused system to not boot- i got my resolution working when i Installed titan NV40 from tubgirls 10.4.10dvd, but no QI/CE- any thing i can do using those since they seem to be the only ones that dont crash my system?

Hey everyone.

I have leopard installed, but I am on the boat of people with a "kernel panic" problem.

I'm trying to do the solution others have posted :

boot with -s

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/Ge*.kext

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/NV*kext

Problem is, for some reason the drive becomes enabled as "read-only"

So I do not think the files are being deleted at all. Any other suggestions on this? Should I try to use terminal off the Leopard CD?

Before deleting them you have to mount your drive to Read/Write Modus.

This is simply done by using the following command:

mount -uw /

Merry Christmas

Amazing, that worked beautifully.

Thank you very much, and happy holiday's to you as well, and enjoy yourself.

I'm just going to try and google my last problem away. Seems whenever I hit " about my comptuer " it crashes leopard, and it reloads the desktop.

Hi again mate,

All you have to do is replace the following kexts with your current ones. Make sure to backup though!

IONetworkingFamily.kext

AppleSMBIOS.kext

http://idisk.mac.com/theoperator90210/Public/ToH_Kexts.zip

NOTE: If you have Little Snitch installed then uninstall it first, reboot, and replace the kexts. When everything went nice then you can install Little Snitch again.

1. Replace all Kexts

2. open terminal

type

cd /system/library/extensions

chmod -R 755 * && chown -R root:wheel *

cd ..

rm -r extensions.mkext

kextcache -a i386 -e

reboot

Kind Regards!

LoL...

X-mas was 51 minutes ago for me ........that would be insanely punctual if it was released at midnight =X

Oh, as far as installing FCS-2 Goes, I can't do it. Says I don't have enough VRAM (it says I have 0MB, though, I know I have 256).

edit: fixed with new kexts

Im eagerly awaiting LAN freeze solution (currently using cpus=1). the only issues I have now (besides LAN freeze) are my USB ports & Firewire. They're not functioning properly.

my set up:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200 @2.21 GHZ

MSI K9N4-SLI Mobo

2GB Memory

GeForce 8600 GT 512 MB PCI-E

LG Flatron L22WT (DVI)

Maxtor 20gb ATA (Leopard)

Maxtor 250gb ATA (Vista)

At the risk of waving my N00b-flag a little TOO high...

I'm seeing a lot of referneces to replacting kexts, which I understand, but when I log in to the machine with a -x, I don't seem to have the rights I need to replace the kext files, nor delete them. Do I need to run a -s command to change the security of the files I want to replace or edit, or do I have to do edits at a cli?

Thanks for the assist, and thanks to all of you whose work has made it possible for me to re-purpose my XP box to running Mac OSX.

Hardware Specs:

Athlon 64 x2 4400+ Toledo (939)

EVGA 8800GTS, 320MB

Biostar NF4ST-A9 mobo

2GB PC3200 DDR 400 RAM

500 GB SATA drives

LG Dual-Layer DVD Burner

Logitech Cordless Desktop MX3100

Creative Labs XMod+ USB

Salvaged 3Com 10/100 NIC (OSX is not happy with my On-Board NIC)

Just enable the root account

Open Directory Utility located in Application » Utilities.

You may have to unlock Directory Utility to make changes.

Once it's unlocked, go to Edit » Enable Root User, and then type in a password for your root user.

Run terminal, then login with

su root

It should ask you for a password (it's the password you setup for the root account).

That should do it.

BTW: Has anyone installed the "Security Update 2007-009"

Just wondering if it is safe to install without crashing the system.

I've noticed my machine is a little unstable (application's like to spontaneously crash)

BTW: Has anyone installed the "Security Update 2007-009"

Don't install that update.. it will totally scr** up your osx... I'm mean kernel panics while booting. I was so stupid, that I installed this update, without making a backup earlier, and everything went to hell.

Odd, my Lan seems to be working flawlessly. Unless I'm missing something.

Just wondering if anyone else is having troubles with the new iTunes 7.5

I keep crashing with that EXC_BAD_ACCESS, sometimes firefox does too, but it's mainly itunes with it plays some random songs.

I play all my music from my NTFS partition with XP-SP2 on it. I'm not sure if that has anything to do iwth it.

Thanks for the program, I have no idea how to use it.

I'm assuming

1) Make list of Binaries

2) Create the package

3) Patch them (CPUID)

4) Patch the Binaries last

As for LAN Freezing, I only have a single core (yes I'm old school like that), and I use LAN.
