Ernest Defoe
But I am back using a Mac. Man have things changed. It's been over 10 years since I have used one. I went to the local Mac Resource store, and they had a used iMac for $800.00. It's a G5, but hey 2GHz processor, 2GB or RAM, 250GB HD with Leopard installed. I could have sworn the guy told me that iWork was installed as well, but can't seem to find it. I think I got a pretty good deal on it, oh and it's a 20inch iMac if that helps any. I had looked on their website and they had one on there that was more than this one, with less RAM and a lot smaller HD but had 1 year of Apple Care left. I wonder if I can purchase that for this Mac. Well like I said I was so excited I just had to tell someone. Let me know if I got a good deal or not. I think I did...also the used one that was more had Tiger installed and this one had Leopard which saved me a $130.00. P.S. I am loving using a Mac again.....gotta figure things out been on a PC for a long time. Synaesthesia
It's a good buy, not bad, although an Intel machine would be ideal since you can run windows and do so much more. But $800 for a 20" G5 is good. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73504-its-been-awhile/#findComment-520212 Share on other sites
~pcwiz
Yeah tis indeed a good deal. Especially with Leopard installed. I know what you mean about going back to using a mac. Ever since my iMac broke 4 or 5 years ago I've been using a PC. OSx86 has helped me gain my Mac back Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73504-its-been-awhile/#findComment-525328 Share on other sites
Ernest Defoe
Well I never could get OSx86 to install on my laptop no matter what version I used. Tried the flat file, tried a patched DVD I tried it all. Oh well...now I get the Mac experience using a Mac.
