MilitantHippie
Hi there. I'm planning on upgrading the 512MB DDR2-533 I currently have installed in my Lenovo 3000 N100, and whether I can use DDR2-800 or if I am limited to DDR2-667? And if I'm not, will 1GB DDR2-800 better than 2GB DDR2-667? Thanks in advance.
Alessandro17
Check at Crucial what your system supports: http://www.crucial.com/ I have already checked anyway, and this seems the best available: http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.as...8B4B877A5CA7304 Or if you are planning to install 4GB: http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.as...5593778A5CA7304
vbetts
In the long run ddr2-800 is faster than ddr2-667, but with more amount of ram in ddr2-667 you'll see more of a performance boost since there's more available ram. You'll only notice that applications load and run just a bit smoother with faster ram. If you do get 1 gb ddr2-800, you'd only have 1 gb of ram versus 2gb of ram. I'd go for the 2GB ddr2-667, and even if you buy ddr2-800 it may or may not be limited to either ddr2-667 or ddr2-533 speeds. I'm not sure, I can't speak from expirence. MilitantHippie
It seems I probably would be better off installing 4GB instead. I'll look into it, thanks a lot for the quick replies.
