  • 2 weeks later...

I succeed on Intel 865G + Socket 478 Prescott P4 + ATI Radeon x1600 256MB (71c2) + PC EFI V8.

The replaced kernel is EFI support version, and have to remove AppleIntelCPUPowerMangement.kext.

I also exchanged AppleSMBIOS.kext bundled with PC EFI.

In order to get CI/QE enable, still need to replace two kext with IONDRVSupport.kext (10.4.7) and ATINDRV.kext (10.4.5).

I also added GFX string of x1600 in com.apple.Boot.plist

Hi, I tried to update using vxdre's link, but my install broke! When I booted it in verbose mode, it stopped when it went past "configuring Kernel Extension", when it came up when an error, and while it was accessing "InstallAtStartup" folder, which came up with "No such file or directory". Any help on this would be helpful, any my specs are as follows:

Intel Pentium M 740 1.73GHz

1GB RAM

60GB SATA

Intel GMA900

Intel 2200BG WiFi

Dual-booting Vista Home Premium and Mac OS X 10.4.6 by GoatsecX

Any help would be greatly appreciated

What are the benefits of going from 10.4.10 to 11? I have my system running pretty well using the THo install. It does have a couple of bugs like the .dmg failed to mount thing but from my readings the kernal updates won't fix that. So is upgrading that important?

Wow! Looking forward to trying this, i have an ASRock P4i65G (i865G / ICH5) with SSE3 Prescott - i read somewhere that pc_efi only worked on Core 2 Duo, and only supported Intel motherboards for HPET (not even intel chipsets it seemed). What motherboard do you have? Oh, and do you still have to use dsmos.kext ?

Same here...The XxX 10.4.10 dvd includes a System Profiler patch which might work...

Right. The 10.4.11 DVD (XxX) also includes a patch for this, and loginwindow.app (About This Mac). I suggest anyone running Tiger that has upgraded from an older release (Eg: 10.4.8 JaS) to grab the latest 10.4.11 releases floating around the usual waters.
