I'd say AppleCare is worth it, but I'd check to make sure what you're getting really is AppleCare. £58 is way too low. I'm not sure what you mean by "proper HE website." The £231.48 price was what I got when I said I was a student at Southampton University. In any case, AppleCare does not come as standard with the computer - you get 1 year on parts/service and 90 days on phone support standard. AppleCare is 3 years for all of that. I'd say it's worth it for £231.48, and definitely worth £58 if you can really get it at that price. Just make sure that it is actually AppleCare for that price, because that doesn't sound remotely close to what it should be (the US price is $350, or $240 for students).
