How can anyone reply when you don't give us -any- hardware info?

Just search the forum, it is hit or miss. There are entire threads on higher resolutions and ATi or GMA900/GMA950 cards. No other cards have a chance, though.

I set it in the config file to 1600x1200 but it will only go to 1280x1024. Anyway to get it to go higher? I'm running 10.4.3 8F1111 with JAS patches.

i dont think so , with nVidia.

nVidia cards use the VESA 3.0 driver which has a max of 1280x1024x32@75

maybe with ATi it's possible

uhh... well I can confirm a higher resolution than that with an nVidia card. i run my 128Mb GeForce 6800NU AGPx8 at 2048x1536x32. I can also confirm however that 1600x1280x32 will NOT work, and will bump back down to 1280x1024x32.

i run 2048x1536 on a 19'' Iiyama - perfect for iPhoto! :D

you think that would work for my 6600GT?

its pci-e, and my monitor DOES support that resolution in windows.

but yah i got it running at the same resolution, and surprisingly my xbench was actually a little better, AND imnot getting the memory leaks that i was getting before.

and sound is 100%

wow.

thanks

Well, there is an option in VESA 3.0 for the vendors to do their own spec above 1280x1024. You guys lucked out.

You never know, all you can do is try. :)

elaborate please?

ive worked on macs for about two years now, but i never had to install/use terminal for stuff.
