JustinAiken
Hey,I started looking into building a osx86 system a few weeks ago, and was told that the bad axe2 is the best/most compatible motherboard to get. I want to dual boot Leopard and XP or Vista. The machine is mainly built for audio - pro tools and such. My goal is to have as powerful an audio PC as I can with pure leopard compatibility... hopefully for around $800 or so. Advice please! Thanks! EDIT - Removed a stupid question. JustinAiken
I just looked those 2 up and compared them to the Intel board... they look almost identical to me, but I don't know much about hardware... Could you please explain the advantages/disadvantages between the 3? Thanks!

Could you please explain the advantages/disadvantages between the 3? Thanks! No real feature differences, mostly overclockability and board quality. An Intel board will last you no less than 20 years, an ASUS maybe 10, and Gigabyte you'd be lucky to get 5. For overclockability, the Gigabytes usually hit well over 500FSB, with the ASUS usually getting around 450FSB, and the Intel usually gets 420FSB. 433FSB is the absolute max my Badaxe 2 can take, but really anything over 425FSB is unstable.
