Installed yesterday leo in my biostar I945GM7 hackintosh with BrazilMac-9a581-Patch. All but the graphic card, an ATI X300 (id: 5B60) went OK.

Can't change resolution and naturally no QE/CI...so i copied from my tiger 10.4.10 hdd partition the 'callisto' and 'callistoHAL' kexts to /System/Library/Extensions. than replaced '/System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework' by one from my working 10.4.10 installation :

mkdir /leobackup

mv /System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework /leobackup

cp -R /Volumes/macosx-10.4.4\ 1/System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework /System/Library/Frameworks

then repaired authorisation in Disk Utility and rebooted. All i get is the apple Logo screen with the wheel infinetly spinning...A verbose reboot report AFAIK a 'loginwindows' crash...

So i rebooted into Tiger 10.4.10, restored the original leo 'OpenGL.framework' :

cp -R /Volumes/Leopard/leobackup/OpenGL.framework /Volumes/Leopard/System/Library/Frameworks

repaired authorization then rebooted...Now i get the finder, can change resolution, but still no QE/CI.

Notice : "About this mac" is crashing in leopard 9a581. The finder each time goes off (diappear) and than goes on (appear)...Is it related to the above mentionned 'loginwindows' crash...

Anyway, i think a driver is needed for getting CI/QE .

CATANA CALLISTO & CO WHERE ARE YOU. ARE YOU HEARING ME. PLEASE HELP FOR THE ATI X300/550 USERS COMMUNITY. :)

Oh, i forgot to mention that in every case i edited the 'Info.plist' of 'ATIRadeonGA.plugin' and 'ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin' in /System/Library/Extensions replacing strings 'IONDRVFramebuffer' by 'CallistoFB'

Also the ATI X300 i used is an pci-e card with only DVI output.

I am having the same problem on a Dell Optiplex GX280. Everything worked without modification except for QE/CI on the integrated GMA900 or my ATI x300. After having success with both cards in Tiger I thought I had a good chance with leopard.

if i'm not wrong, to get it all to work again, we need to revise koverg's patch to be able to patch the new ATIRadeon9700.kext at the correct location again cos the driver is newly compiled as universal as opposed to ppc in the tiger build....

Then we need to get hold of callisto sources and recompile it with the correct leo headers to make it all work... jus needs some work...

I have tried on Leopard, but it does not work :(

old thread, but let's revive it. Whoever is still dealing with a x300 in Leo, try the attached file. On a Dell Inspiron 9300: resolution change OK, but no QE/CI :afro:

For installing the kext and the bundle, preferably use kexthelper or OSx86 Utility, otherwise please follow ALL instructions inside the archive. This should avoid mouse artifacts.

I have just tried this with an Inspiron 6000 and the ID 5460, Mobility x300, I get the list of resolutions for a moment, then the display cuts out. I'm going to test if it might be trying to output to the VGA port instead of the laptop display ... but I have doubts that the computer is responsive at all.

Edit: Nothing going, the computer is unresposive, no VGA, won't shutdown with power button + enter (default option is shutdown after hitting power)
