MrRitalin
I'm looking to upgrade from the 75gb drive that I have - could I use this? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136073 I've read problems about people going into disk utility and then being prompted with a red message saying you can't install max os x...I'd have to reformat the drive to hfs+ right? Please help and answer quick as I'm thinking about purchasing it right now. THANKS

A Nonny Moose
You need a hard drive module "blessed" by Apple.

sarahbau
You need a hard drive module "blessed" by Apple. uh, what "blessing" are you referring to? All he'd have to do is format it using Disk Utility, and it would work fine. It wouldn't work at full SATA 3.0 speed since the 1st gen G5 iMac had SATA 1.5, but SATA 3.0 drives have backward compatibility with 1.5 controllers
