Hi,

I have just installed apple os x 10.4.8 and it was working fine, I then run the offical apple update to 10.4.10 and now the pc will not boot. it gets to the press f8 screen and then after that it just restarts the pc constantly. is there anyway around this such as rolling back and removed the updates or do I need to do another clean install?

Thanks

Hey,

Don't update Mac on your PC with software update unless you follow a guide that clearly states you are supposed to, it usually results in a broken OSx86 install.

You probably need to do a clean install like Homers said.

Next time you want to update to 10.4.10, follow a guide. The update directly from Apple installs kext that aren't 100% compatible with PC hardware and therefore need to be modified so your computer can actually boot.

Good luck!

thanks for the quick replies both - just running a clean install now, its a {censored} that I have got AMD processor and this complex process is made even thougher thanks to that.

I may need some more help about how to run the update for amd processor after the installation has happenned.

Thanks again
