Hello everyone...

After been reading and reading through various posts, I managed to install and dual boot vista + Leopard on my HP DV2000 more precisely HP DV2115ea

I used the patched dvd version from the demon site and I would be glad to help anyone trying to install it on the HP laptop.

Its easier than it seems...

What are your specs? What kexts if any did you use? I have a dv9000t that shares similar architechture depending on what vid card, wireless, processor you have. I have put off the leopard install because I'm not sure if I need other kexts or which ones I need, your info would be greatly appreciated.

Everything seems to be working except the built in wireless.

Even the built in webcam works...

My specs are:

1.60 GHz Intel® Core™ Duo processor T2050 with Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology

NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7200

Intel® PRO/100 Ethernet

Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g

HP Pavilion WebCam

I have a DV2000T and tried putting 10.4.9 on it but ended up with the "still waiting for root device" error when starting up, I was hoping leopard wasn't going to give me the same problems.

I'll let you know how it goes, and I'll have to hit you up for info if it doesn't work.

Leopard loaded ok but after I was done happy dancing I found that the internal NIC and the Wireless NIC don't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Also decosx, how did you setup the dual boot?

And if anyone knows how to adjust the partition size it would be nice.

I am trying to install Leopard on my DV2000 as well but I am not having any luck. What was your steps in doing so? I got the patched dvd off demonoid and brazulmac-9a581 patch posted on the osx86scence forums. I got it to boot into leopard, but got a panic as a result. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

I am going to be installing this on my DV2000t as well. The problem is that the XP install currently on there is critical to me. Any way any of you can whip up a short walk-thru for this DV2k install before I start backing up the system and trying this?

Much appreciated. :D

I got the Hammer's Forge (P4C800-E Deluxe) up and running with Leopard, but I had to two-stage it due to incompatibilities with the NATIT driver for the X1650 PRO AGP (I started with a *vanilla* 10.4.9. uphuck install, and then upgraded that with the ToH DVD). UNfortunately, About This Mac/More Info crashes on SSE2 still (hopefully this will be fixed in a later PPF or patch), but my Ethernet still works (it worked with all versions of Tiger, and still works in Leopard). In fact, I'm posting from my Leopard partition (technically, this is now a triple-boot system, as the Vista boot loader has Vista Ultimate and Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon; however, I deliberately isolated the Hackintosh partition to a separate drive and swap to that via the BIOS).

By starting with Tiger (I used uphuck 10.4.9 vanilla; however, any vanilla 10.4.x install should work), I avoided the booting problems I had doing a clean install. However, due to driver issues, a vanilla install (of 10.4.9) is preferred.

After a few fumbling attempts, I have finally managed to install Leopard. ;)

First time through, my Philips DVD/CDRW wouldn't completely boot through the downloaded patched DVD. Took me a while to figure out that it works in another machine-- so I used an USB DVD drive instead.

Then I realized that the script was broken -- I had to change it a bit for it to see the right paths.

Then, realized after another attempt that the additional pkgs that I installed from the uphuck dvd were causing kernel panicks-- I did a clean install, and then a clean leopard install after-- Bingo!

Took me some good 7-8 hours to get it to boot it, but now I realize that unlike the rest of you, I'm not having any luck with:

Intel VE/100 LAN -- Does not show up in the system profiler. I wonder if it's because I kept the wire off during install?

Built-in MIC: No idea why that wasn't picked up, because the built in camera works.

I have to reset the hardware WiFi switch after every power on in order for BT to get recognized again. Of course, the Intel ABG is a no go.

Sleep -- doesn't seem to wake back up.

Modem -- Not recognized in the system profiler.

Finally, the Media card reader doesn't work either.

Any of you have any luck with the items above?

TIA!

try this for your intel wireless woes (Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g):

your looking for a driver called "iwi3945" there is a dmg image of it on the last page of this thread. These driver are the most unstable. Here are drivers that are more stable:

Good luck and keep us informed! Personally, I would like to know if Leopard is faster!

hi i also have an HP laptop, but its an 8510p, when i go to the installer, disk utilities does not even list my hard drive, only my dvd drive. would you happen to know why that is? i am using mac.nubs dvd if it helps, thank you
Did you prep a partition for the install? Until you prep a partition using HSF Journaled file system, the install process won't allow you to continue. :)

Thanks Zband, I'll give that a shot later on this week and add my results to the google group-- so far it doesn't seem promising though, if the feedbacks are any indication. Any idea why it's crashing for many?TIA!

Just to add I also had success installing leopard on my dv2000t. Everything also works including sound and wifi. The only flaw I see is for some reason leopard sees my processor as a core solo as opposed to a core duo. If it helps i also used the Toh release for mines.

Sorry for being so blunt um.. Audio out works via appleazalia still no in yet. Also I do have full wifi functionality which worked with no edits and no the webcam I have doesnt work .. but then again I dont use it so I never really strived to make it work.
