I have successfully installed 10.4.10 onto my toshiba a200.

specs: Intel 950 GMA, core 2 Duo T5300 1.73 GHz, 160 GB toshiba 1637GSX SATA, 160 GB Maxtor SATA USB 2.0, 2 GB RAM DDR2, Vista + XP on toshiba HD, OSx86 Tiger on external. Audio ALC861, Realtek RTL8101 Fast Ethernet (used patch).

The only problem I encountered was a broken driver for GMA 950 but I used the 900 one instead. Works great. ;)

The forum is packed with helpful info on installing OSX86 on the GA-945GCMX-S2,

but why is there so little about the GA-945GCM-S2L?

I ordered the recommended GA-945GCMX-S2 the other day but had to settle for the GA-945GCM-S2L instead as they where out of stock.

Other than onboard sound and lan it they seem pretty much the same?

Hi Maoriboy: Kiora. (hope thats spelt right - if not im sorry -_-

It seems that the S2L is the replacement board to the S2, but there are still supplies of the S2 in the states, while ours (Australia, NewZealand) have run out and are onto the next version/revision.

while the specs may be similar, the board may have completely different layouts that would need to be catered for, and until someone can show a release working on this board I may just go for the Asrock conroe 1333 board.

can you please post your results when you setup with the S2L then it could be added to the Wiki to help the rest of us :P

Kia ora, Nacho

(Spelling close enough cuz)

Cheers for that piece of motherboard incite, I appreciate that bro

I was really planning to use tried and tested components for my new OSX86 machine, but I guess I'll see how my S2L fears,

I will definitely be back to post my adventures. ;)

kalways boots fine with EFI. i had not much time to test it further. LAN seems not to work out of the box, but i guess there is a workaround. i had the asrock conroe before, but i had to downgrade the bios.

I am pleased to report that I now have leopard 10.5.1 up and running :D

I am running the vanilla kernel using the supplied apps on the Kalyway 10.5.1 install DVD

Everything worked after initial install accept the LAN and Sound

LAN - I used the NIC driver from the realtek site (RTGMac_v1.1.6.pkg)

Sound – Installed the AzaliaAudio kext using the installer although I later realised that it is included on the Kalyway DVD

I am only using my IDE hardrive and DVD drive so I am unsure if sata or raid is working

Audio out works perfectly but I have not tested audio in

I have installed heaps of apps and they all run flawlessly

But,

I am having a slight issue with MS Office 2008, it behaves weird when the mouse pointer is put into an text input area or input box? Any ideas? ;)

Really glad to hear you got everything up and running, I am unsure of office - remember its a microsoft product and could be full of bugs :thumbsup_anim:

if your using onboard GFX it seems to have some issues with GFX glitches, maybe a Nvidia 7300GT will cure it?

hey bro be sure to add your success to the list from the main site so it can be added to the WIKI!!, or even start a new thread with your motherboard in the title :D

For Office 2008, I got it working no problem, but I am only one using the program. I don't know if you guys care at all but I got my version of Office working just fine. Has anyone got Final Cut Studio working? I can manage with the hard drive space, but is it fully working of the 945 GM chipset? Also, is there any way to get the full amount of video memory from the card? My specs from Windows Vista are that I can dynamically share form 8 MB to 244 MB. Is there any way to adjust the system info on OSx86 of the Video memory to 128 MB? Just wondering.

Thanks

The issues with MS Office I have come to learn is mouse tearing, something common to leopard and the GMA950 onboard graphics.

I happens it quite a few apps, Firefox, Adobe Dreamweaver, and others

I have searched high and low for a fix for this. At the moment I have found that replacing the AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext with one found within the forum (older) fixes the tearing. but infortunatley leaves me unable to change resolutions and refresh rate.

Still working on it.....

Hi,

I just bought the s2l board because the older version is out of stock already.

@maoriboy: Where can I find the "RTGMac_v1.1.6.pkg" drivers? Is there a newer driver now (for 10.5.2) .. how about QI/CE .. did you use the natit of Paulicat?

Thank you so much.
