hazkid
Go to quicktime preferences and change the MIME types for QT. Deselect 'Flash' and you should be okay.
johnsingh07
Hey thanx but i cant find where the "flash" box is? what is it under? video? ive already selected Enable Flash but its not helping:(
hazkid
Try disabling "Enable Flash" That command allows QT to play SWF files. In this scenario, you don't want that to happen. Also, try reinstalling flash itself. http://adobe.com

hazkid
Here are my MIME settings. If all else fails, try a reboot. Then, reinstall Flash and restart Safari.
boolio
I've got the same problem...and I've tried all the suggestions. It's quite maddening!
boolio
Ok, this worked for me(got this from apple support forum), but from what I can tell it doesn't work for everyone. Go to your hard drive Go to Library folder Go to Internet Plugins folder Locate File Quicktime Plugin.webplugin (Note there is also a Quicktime Plugin.plugin file. Leave this one alone) Move file to trash Restart Safari
TekyTek
All the above haven't worked for me either. But if I login to the Admin account it works... and I've tried to mimic the QT settings from there .. but still no go. TekyTek
quixos
adobe has released a flash 9 update which is working great on my leopard. you must use their uninstaller before you install the update. here are links. adobe flash uninstaller page adobe flash 9 installer page
TekyTek
Thanks for the suggestion, but I tried both of these as well, as a first choice. Tried a re-install back to Tiger and it's fine, then re-install of Leopard and it fails, but as previously indicated, it happens with only the user account. The Admin account works fine, and my User account has Admin rights. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TekyTek.
TekyTek
I tried it again, but uninstalling the old and re-installing the new Flash version makes no difference. A word of caution with the un-install flash program, unmount any Firewire boot drives first, as it searches and tries to un-install flash from these Drives, ie if you have a Carbon Copy Clone or SuperDuper then you won't have a backup of Flash on them.
