Greasy Breakfast
I built this Hackintosh with the intent to use it for video playback to my TV, among other uses. Unfortunately, the S-Video port on the BFG NVidia 7900 GS doesn't seem to work under OSX. Has anyone managed to get it to work? If not, is there a USB-based product I can use to break out to S-Video or Component, or is the Apple TV the best option for me? sarahbau
I'm assuming your TV doesn't have VGA or DVI inputs on it? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/67620-connecting-hackintosh-to-tv/#findComment-480747 Share on other sites
Greasy Breakfast
No... just component and S-video. I'd get a new TV, but I just cant justify it right now. macgirl
I connect my Hackintosh to TV with S-Video on Geforce 6600, The only thing that I need to do is connect it before boot. Greasy Breakfast
Interesting, my BFG Nvidia 7900 GS will display the boot screen, and the booting Apple logo, but when the resolution changes I lose the picture and nothing will detect the TV as a display again. Maybe though there's options yet. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/67620-connecting-hackintosh-to-tv/#findComment-480766 Share on other sites
macgirl
TV sets does not support all resolutions, try 800x600 and 1024x768, unless they are Digital (DVI or HDMI) and of course deactivate mirror display. xplizid
i have the same issue i get the apple boot up but once it hits os x loses signal. ive tried the resolutions its worked on a year ago on windows, so its not that, must have something to do with graphic card support as ive got it to work in the past with a modifyed nvidia kext for dual monitors but doesnt work well with a tv that has a totally different resolution.
