I'm impressed at how stable 559 seems to run... I was expecting it to be hanging and unexpectedly quitting stuff at least a little bit...

My only problems are that quicksilver doesn't work very well with it, despite being apparently "compatible". I can't load any plug ins. Which means I can't fiddle with iTunes using trackpad corners and SideTrack...

Anyone else running Quicksilver with 559?

Also, inquisitor doesn't work at all in Safari, despite getting a completely normal installation procedure.

I heard that Safari no longer supports plug ins of this sort. Is this true?

If so it sucks!

Thats about it really, pretty much everything else works perfectly... iPhoto, iTunes, iWork '08, mail and Safari.

Time machine is still backing up, so I haven't had a chance to play with that yet.

I'm not sure about Quicksilver, but Inquisitor relies on InputManager technology, which Apple has removed (to much disapproval) from Leopard. Their explanation is that it was being used for malware. While I hadn't heard of any, I can certainly see how it could be possible.

Yeah I hear you on the Quicksilver problem. I can only do the basic things with it and it annoys about the icon in the dock never going away also. I think we will just have to wait for the next update to Quicksilver after leopard is released to get the functionality we want again.

I have not tried inquisitor yet so I do not know if it is just your install or all of them.

Quicksilver -- yeah, same issues. Also, I use Curio a LOT, and I've discovered that version 3.2, at least, won't work at all. Tried on my Macbook Pro and the Mac Mini, both running 559. It errors out and won't start, even after a reinstall. :(One other issue I've run into -- on my MBP, the network card doesn't detect when a cable is plugged in. I swapped cables with the mini, just to be sure, and it's definitely the laptop, not the cable. Hmm.

Well it's oddly comforting to know that everybody else is having the same problems with Quicksilver...

I hope they bring out a new version by the time I buy Leopard.

That sucks that InputManager got dumped, Inquisitor was a really useful tool. Hope someone figures out a way to implement it, I don't want to use any other browser!

The quicksilver beta direct link (there is no other official link actually) is getqs.com/dev/. Enjoy your quicksilver-y goodness

Thanks man, it really helps.

My problem is that I can install Quicksilver, and I can see the Quicksilver thread in the CPU threads list, but I can't call it out.

Now it works like a charm.
