idividebyzero
It seems like leopard quicktime has trouble with codecs. In tiger I didnt have a problem, but after installing all the codecs I used for tiger (like Perian) about 70% of my movies dont work and just give an I/O error when opening quicktime. I never got the I/O error in tiger either, if I didnt have the codec it gave a different error. Anyone else having weird issues with Quicktime? Adrian Fogge
No issues. Additionally, when you want a question answered, please try to limit yourself to one post. Could you try going into the console and getting the system logs of when you try to open one of your videos? ~Adrian
idividebyzero
It double posted because the boards kept getting shut down from too much traffic, when I hit submit it gave me an error the first time telling me to try again later. system logs? Killroy
I'm not experiencing any problems with Perian either. Try uninstalling Perian, then Reinstall. Open System Preferences. Select the Perian pane and click Remove Perian. Then Reinstall. Also, Repair Disk Perimissions with Disk Utility.
idividebyzero
I figured out what the I/O error is about I think. Apparently Im not allowed to read or write the files. All my movie files are on an NTFS partition, I see some folders have a lock icon and some dont. I tried copying the I/O error files to my mac partition and it said Im not allowed to read or write to those files giving me an Error Code -36. Only some files are like that. Never seen that error in Tiger. Then theres another error with avi files. "This file is not a movie file"... The thumbnails render and quick look can play them, but not quicktime. VLC can play them too. Console is just crashing every time I open it.
