Quicktime codecs?

It seems like leopard quicktime has trouble with codecs. In tiger I didnt have a problem, but after installing all the codecs I used for tiger (like Perian) about 70% of my movies dont work and just give an I/O error when opening quicktime. I never got the I/O error in tiger either, if I didnt have the codec it gave a different error.

Anyone else having weird issues with Quicktime?

I figured out what the I/O error is about I think. Apparently Im not allowed to read or write the files. All my movie files are on an NTFS partition, I see some folders have a lock icon and some dont. I tried copying the I/O error files to my mac partition and it said Im not allowed to read or write to those files giving me an Error Code -36. Only some files are like that. Never seen that error in Tiger.

Then theres another error with avi files. "This file is not a movie file"... The thumbnails render and quick look can play them, but not quicktime. VLC can play them too.

Console is just crashing every time I open it.
