Hello,

Starting to really get into macs, and learned about ADC @ developer.apple.com.

I am a full time student, so I quality for the $100 year discount.

If I join, does that mean I can download MAC OSX10.5 for free once its released next week?

If so, does that mean I just download it and then burn it to a DL DVD, and I'm ready to go? Is it single license or family pack? Thanks.

Yes, If you get the Student ADC, you will either be able to download the current version of Mac OS X (Leopard), or you can wait for it to be shipped to you in the monthly mailing.

You could either burn it to a Dual Layer DVD, or use Disk Utility to restore it to a partition and boot from that.

Pretty sure that $100 ADC is worth it, for the new OS X, if nothing else.

Great! I guess I have to wait until next week as students don't get pre-releases. Should I wait until then to sign up, as I don't want them to send me tiger, lol, or should I wait?

Is it pretty easy? Are you sure I also get an install cd as well from them?

WOW, Dual Layer DVDs are expensie, lol

I'm in the same boat as you. I want to join the ADC, but should I join now or wait until the release? If I join now, will I only be allowed to download Tiger, or will it update on ADC to Leopard?

Seeing as I'm not familiar with ADC, are there a certain number of times you can download the OS?

Thanks in advance for the help.

You asked if it's a family pack. In actuality, there is no such thing as a family pack. Since there is no limit on how many computers you can run it on, you could use a single license a thousand times.

The only thing separating the two is the license agreement. Yo only have the RIGHT to install it on one comp, but its not like anybody would notice, care, or sue you for putting it on all your computers.
