I've got 9A559 running on my trusty 1GHz PowerBook G4 (Titanium), and Front Row works just fine using the keyboard to control it. The fact that there is actually now an application icon for Front Row, I doubt that they would 'disable' it in the GM when installed on Macs w/out an IR port.

Currently I use a a Griffin USB Airclick with my iMac G5 (w/out an IR port) to control a hacked version of Front Row in Tiger. This works great, but I'm looking forward having Front Row as a native part of the OS so I don't have to 'hack' it to work. Bring on Leopard! :D

Ok, so I'm running the Leopard retail (GM 9A581) on my iMac G5, but unfortunately Airclick is no longer a fail-safe "Apple Remote replacement" for Front Row. It would appear that anytime the "hold pause/play button to activate command" is used, Airclick's software hoses up. Other than this, if I activate Front Row w/ the keyboard, I can navigate w/ my Airclick remote just dandy. Unfortunately you need the "hold pause/play button" to navigate in reverse within Front Row (in addition to activating it in the first place), so this is a pretty disappointing. It seems like something that should be easily addressed w/ an Airclick software update, but I'm not feeling to good since Griffin has officially discontinued its Airclick products. It sure would be a real shame if my Airclick was no longer a useful replacement for controlling Front Row w/out a built in IR sensor and Apple Remote. Any insight on this would be great. Thanks :(
