So now I'm asking, if its possible, to install Leopard without formate my harddisc first. Can I just put the cd in and install? Can I keep my files, music etc. without make a back up or something like this? or would leopard delete everything when it installs? Thank you for your help. and sorry for bad english Best regards Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/66839-keeps-leopard-the-private-files/ Share on other sites
manitoba98
As with previous versions of OS X, you have a few options. You could install Leopard to an external hard drive, or do an "Archive and Install" over your current system, which moves your old files into a folder. It's always a good idea to have a backup, though, just in case something goes awry. vassillios
you can just do an upgrade which would allow you to keep all of your files without backing up (although it's always a good idea to do a backup). This would just update your system...which is what i did with 9a559 with no troubles what so ever.
