Riemann Zeta
Only 11 days left until retail release and Apple has no finished GM build of 10.5--they are still coding release candidates. It must be a balls-to-the-wall tweak-a-thon for the programmers at Cupertino. I can't imagine that the all-too rushed Leopard will be 'ready for prime time' when released, but that still won't stop me from buying and installing it immedately. Anyone else wondering how they are going to have time to produce and ship retail DVDs in less than 2 weeks? FarmerBob
Nothing was ever said that they're releasing 10.5 on that date. They did say that there was going to be "an announcement" in a date range at the end of the month, and I bet it's to say that Leopard has been delayed again. It is said that it could be until February. And to press a couple of million DVD's in a very short amount of time is going to take more resources than Apple or anyone has to meet that date. Especially since the GM is no where in sight. The last version I got 9A599 is a mess. Everyone here is taking everything and every rumor at face value. Get real. It may not happen. Now with that said Apple prove me wrong for once. sg
sorry but the last big release on ADC was 9a559 (not 599) and it was a pretty good guild with maybe room for a few fixes which are already fixed (Safari in latest nigthly). as for being down to the wire, any OSX user that went through this with 10.4 and 10.3 and 10.2 will know that the GM and FC builds were being released on ADC 1 week before it was going to hit the stores. 1 week is more than enough time for apple to get all the DVDs ready, the packaging is already done.
