royco
Ok, I got S3 sleep working with my setup in my signature. Sleeps fine, wakes up fine, all USB drives connected. Wonderful! Here are the events that took place before I got it to work. -Install JAS 10.4.8 DVD ppf1 ppf2( select intel files and loginwindow only) -Install NVinject 0.9 chmod permissions ( For my 7900GS) -Install Kalyway 10.4.10 combo update with 8.10.1 kernel(select default) -Install LAN patch (For my Marvel LAN ) -Install ALC888 driver ( For my Sound) -Install CS3 patch from XxX 10.4.10 dvd ( Sleep was working after this step) -Install ICH8 driver from XXX 10.4.10 dvd ( Installed only because I lost my USB mouse after the last step) Now Im confident about my setup going into sleep, so I tried different dvd distributions, specifically the XxX 10.4.10 ppf1(8.10.1) and the Kalyway 10.4.10(8.10.3 downgraded to 8.10.1 because of restart issue). The problem is none of them work, I tried duplicating the steps but sleeps just doesnt work for me w/ these distributions. So the question is, what does the JAS 10.4.8 dvd have that makes sleep possible? What files does the system use to initiate sleep? Please join in if you have sleep fully working with a particular hardware and OSx distribution. Maybe we can get sleep working for everybody Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/66526-sleep-working-but-with-jas-dvd-only/ Share on other sites

ericchen0121
I would like to second that I used Jas 10.4.8 with a Intel official 10.4.9 upgrade, and sleep worked fine. I switched to S1, but I'm not sure if that was what made it work or not. I installed Kalyway 10.4.10 on a second partition, and everything I got working except for sleep. I have to double check this, but I think even if my monitor is turned off and turned back on, Kalyway will leave me with a blue screen. If anything falls asleep, it seems a blue screen will come up, and nothing else. I will have to reboot. So, to reiterate... JaS sleep works, Kalyway does not. What's Going On?
