Hi,

Now that the official intel macs are out running 10.4.4 universal does that mean we are going to be able to build solid clones of the machines?

Cheers.

Most likely it will be the same stuff we've been doing. Removing TPM, SSE3, NX, etc. The only thing that will be different is hopefully better driver support and less of a beta feel.

A clone typically is a computer piece parted together. Not a Dell, HP, IBM, or whatever other major brand there might be. HOWEVER, in case of OSX86... A clone should be considered anything not directly supported by Apple. So, in this case a Dell, HP, IBM and other major manufactures should be considered clones.

Except for Mac clones, which were real systems built by licensed OEMs around an Apple-designed motherboard (Tanzania was the codename, IIRC) using the first and second generation of PPC chips (601, 603, 604). :D

My Mac clone is a Dell...I already own 7 Macs, dating back to an LCIII up to the 2004 eMac (the rest are a Wallstreet, iMac G3 slot load, beige tower, PowerMacintosh 5500 AIO, and a Digital Audio G4 dual 533)
