Carvinite
I got a clean install finally and my computer won't work with airport for some reason.....and I also can't get DVD's to play, anyone else had these problems?
Lactobacillus P
Well yeah. Unless your system is 100% mac these sort of things will happen. What OS version are you running and what is your hardware? How have you tried to fix it? On sse2 dvd playback through apple's DVD player doesn't seem to work. Try VLC! If you have a centrino system, try the iwi2200 drivers.
~pcwiz
Its kinda expected that your computer won't work with AirPort. About the DVD Player, follow Mark1970s suggestion but I also had this problem and it was because QE/CI wasn't enabled on my video card.
Carvinite
Really, I didn't know that about airport, sorry 'bout that...Is there anyway that I can connect to the internet wirelessly? And i'm gonna do some more looking on the DVD situation.
~pcwiz
If you have a supported wireless card and a wireless access point to the net, then yes you can connect to the internet wirelessly.

E-werd
For example... I have an RTL8187 which Realtek supports in OSX, they have their own utility and installer and everything. Unfortunately, OSX doesn't recognize it as an airport card... just built-in ethernet.
Carvinite
^Thats exactly what i have also..so there is no way that i can make it connect wirlessly then? :-/
E-werd
No no, you will be able to connect. But, instead of using Apple's pretty Airport gui, you use Realtek's wireless utility to find and connect to networks. It works out.
