The disk utility is broken in the XxX and Kalyway install dvd, i have to use the erase from my old JaS dvd just so XxX's will install properly. Erase the dvd with XxX's disk and then reboot with out installing then boot back up with jas's disk and open the disk utility and you will see what its doing. I dunno if thats your problem but when i tried installing XxX it would panic for me until i figured out that it was the disk utility, now it works great -_-.

The DiskUtility in not broken. Is a newer version, and it has some options you must check to make it work properly in normal PC partitions (DiskUtility/partition Tab/Option button/MasterBootRecord (selected)). If you format the disk wrong you wont be able to boot, therefore you can not get a kernel panic. (someone correct me here if Im wrong)

Looking to your system specs, the install should work. One thing causing a panic might be your graphic card.

which packages have you installed?

which is the last line you get while booting?

its funny you say that, becuase i was having diskarb errors regaurding disk0... and when i went into the disk util.

under kalyway it seemed like my "mac" hard drive was partitioned and i couldnt for the life of me figre out how to get ride of it.it kept installin the files to disk0s1. im goign ot try that tonight and reinstall.

i have not install any packages. i have left the difault options on install.

I've just installed Kalyway 10.4.10 v.1.1 (patched) and it will boot into safe mode but if I try to boot normally I get the following

Any idea why? Do I need to go through my Library and remove all of the .kexts which belong to hardware I don't have?

i was using JaS's install with no problems and then i seen there was a kalyway and a XxX build so i tried them out, i must have deleted the hard drives like ten times on both disks and would always get a panic. I knew i was setting the install properly but yet it would always panic on me Lol. Then i went into JaS dvd just to see if it would do it there too and i noticed i had a partition as disk0s1 and then my partition i had made which was "HeLl". I had just deleted the drive on the kalyway disk so it shouldnt have been there... So i used the jas dvd to deleted and went right back over to the kalyway dvd and... first try to install it worked with no panic and i just laughed because of how many times i tried to install it Lol. Then just to look i rebooted and wiped my drive with the XxX dvd and then rebooted back into JaS and low and behold two partitions. One called disk0s1 and one called HeLl. I see others saying im wrong but i know on the disk i have, the disk utility is fugged up! I cant speak for others but on mine it is! Anyways the last time i did try to install with the XxX dvd i noticed it started the drive wipe with disk0s2 and would then rename the partition to my name of choice and so i'm guessing it was installing to the disk0s2/HeLl and would panic because of the disk0s1 being hidden from the disk utility on their disks. After all that i ended up using the XxX install(with no problems with the install) because he didnt load the disk with a bunch of programs like Kalyway did.
